AREA OF INTERVENTION

The scope of the intervention of the G.P.E. includes:

  • 2nd Cycle of Preschool (3,4 and 5 years old)
  • Primary Education (from 1st  year to 6th year)

 

OBJECTIVES AND FUNCTIONS

To carry out the plan and activities of the school psycho-educational cabinet. Elaboration of the Plan of activities and its schedule.
To detect and assess socio-pedagogically students who are likely to be considered as students with specific educational support needs and if necessary, propose their most optimal schooling modality for students with special educational needs. Socio-pedagogical and logo-pedagogical evaluation.
To assess and request technical resources and support products for students with special educational needs. Guidance for the provision of individual support products for students with special educational needs.
To evaluate and refer certain students to other services, institutions, etc. to carry out the evaluations considered appropriate according to their problems. Elaboration of psycho-pedagogical referral reports to other services, institutions, etc.
To guide tutors, teachers and support teachers in the selection, elaboration and monitoring of the educational measures to be adopted. To advise and collaborate in the elaboration/monitoring of the education measures taken.
Psycho-pedagogical guidance in the processes of learning and adaptation in the different educational stages. Psycho-pedagogical orientation in the different educational stages: Preschool, 2nd and 6th Primary education.
To detect in the first moments of schooling the personal and social conditions that facilitate or hinder the student’s E/A process and his/her adaptation to the school environment. Early detection: Initial evaluation of new students in Primary Education stage. Orientation on aspects related to the adaptation to the school.
To advise and guide families in those aspects related to the education of their children (educational guidelines, behavioral strategies and procedures, habits, etc.) Counselling for families.
To provide technical advice and/or support to teachers, the management team and the institution in psycho-pedagogical aspects related to the school curriculum: curricular projects, treatment of diversity, ACI, evaluation, methodology, didactic materials, etc., as well as in aspects related to school behaviour modification, bullying, etc. Advice to the teaching staff, the management team and the institution.
To propose and advise on educational programs and plans for the centre. Advice to the teaching staff, the management team and the centre.
To advise on specific programs as well as study strategies and techniques. Advice to teachers, parents and/or students.
To guide students in all those issues that concern them. Orientation to students on issues related to school and personal orientation, educational guidelines, self-control guidelines, school bullying, …
To guide the centre, the management team and the teaching staff in the establishment of measures to facilitate the school and social integration of students in terms of the preparation, monitoring and evaluation of the Compensatory Education plan: organization of the centre and classrooms, Reception Plan for immigrant students, methodology, teaching materials, necessary support and communication strategies. Guidance and advice on all aspects related to the reception and integration of immigrant students.
Coordination with the Orientation Department of the Secondary stage of the school in order to inform and guide students with specific educational support needs who join the ESO. Coordination with the orientation department of the Secondary stage.
Specific and/or periodic coordination with external support from the centre and for the centre. Coordination and collaboration with external services to the centre: City Council, SPESs, CEFIRE, Medical services, …
To carry out activities aimed at the continuous formation of the members of the G.P.E. Participation in conferences, lectures, work groups, etc.
